OUR AIMS
THERE WILL BE NO HAMSTER PUPS FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE
I have been keeping and breeding syrian hamsters for over 20 years, on and off, only taking breaks to bring up four children. Now the kids are up and are left home with kids of their own I have the time to think about showing my hamsters.
I am in the process of deciding which varieties I would like to show. I'm undecided between Tortoiseshell, Dominant Spot and Roans. The colours I like are copper, black, mink and dove. I also like the satin coat as well so I have many things to think about over the next few weeks and months.
I have just found my first rex coated shorthaired dominant spot boy so will enjoy decideing who he will have his first family with.
My main aim is to breed big, healthy, happy hamsters that are comfortable being handled and having their daily cuddles. I would like to breed hamsters that will make excellent pets for children and adults alike whilst also breeding 'show winning' syrians in the future.
I am learning, with the help of others, about genetics in syrian Hamsters. I'm finding out what my hamsters actually 'are' gentically speaking and indeed what colours some of them are.
A litter of lovely longhaired babies I had ealrier in the year.
